Environmental monitoring of pyrethroid pesticide residue is becoming an increasing concern in stormwater, agricultural run-off, and sediments as some organophosphorus pesticides are replaced with pyrethroids. Very low levels, down to 10 ng/L can be detected by Weck Laboratories' GCMS-SIM procedure using negative chemical ionization. Target compounds in calibration are:

  • Allethrin
  • Bifenthrin
  • Cyfluthrin
  • Cyhalothrin
  • Cypermethrin
  • Deltamethrin
  • Dichloran
  • Fenvalerate
  • Pendimethalin
  • Permethrin
  • Prallethrin
  • Resmethrin
  • Sumithrin
  • Teflutrin
  • Tetrachlorovinphos

For more information on these emergent chemicals, please contact Leo Raab.
