Seal of ExcellenceEach time it has participated, Weck Laboratories, Inc. has received the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) Seal of Excellence program award and has done so again for 2006. This year the lab has also received a special recognition for being one of the Top Ten Laboratories in timeliness. Any environmental testing laboratory who wants to be recognized as a participating laboratory must maintain proof of annual ethics training and an early detection system for questionable analytical practices, submit a signed code of ethics and twelve months of Proficiency Testing (PT) scores, and distribute satisfaction surveys to their customers. The award is presented to laboratories scoring greater than 90% on the combined average of all the PT studies for the previous twelve months and ranked better than 3 on overall customer satisfaction and timeliness as measured by the Seal of Excellence Survey. The scores obtained by Weck laboratories are quite impressive: 98.8% acceptable results for all Proficiency Testing samples during the year, compared to 97.5% for the average of all Seal of Excellence participants (arguably the best commercial laboratories in the nation).
